Slideshow for Donald's graduation

On Sunday, June 13th, we had a ceremony for three of our local homeschool graduates. This was a first ever for all three families. We each had a segment of time to honor our kids and all three families presented slideshows of their kids growing up. Here is ours.

Melissa's birthday

We celebrated Melissa's 17th (!) birthday with G'pa and G'ma on Mother's Day weekend. We went for a hike at the Hoyt Arboretum in Portland. She loves taking pictures of plants and flowers and little brothers! She decorated her cake, too. Some of Melissa's other current interests are origami, playing the piano and flute, flower gardening, and learning to drive. It's a lot of fun watching her develop her talents and interests!

Mother's Day Weekend

This year on Mother's Day, we were all able to spend time at Grandpa & Grandma's house. We went to the Hulda Klager Lilac Gardens in Woodland, Washington with my brother and his wife and had a wonderful picnic lunch and just enjoyed the beautiful gardens!

Hummingbird Visitor

I've been trying for a few years to get good pictures of the hummingbirds that visit us! Melissa took these pictures of a male Calliope in May. They are the smallest hummingbirds in North America.
